Shipping
How your gear gets to you.
We buy the label, not the seller. Every package is tracked, needs a signature, and is insured for what you paid, and you see the shipping cost before you pay.

Where we ship
We ship within the 50 states and DC. Items must ship from an address in that area too. We do not ship to U.S. territories, to military post office (APO and FPO) addresses, or outside the United States.
What shipping costs
Shipping is quoted before you pay, on the item’s size, weight and where it is going, and the quote at checkout is what you are charged. Local pickup is free. You can get an estimate on a listing page before you start checkout. Sales tax is added where we are required to collect it.
How it ships
- We buy the label and the insurance, so nothing goes out untracked or uninsured. The seller packs it and hands it to the carrier.
- Ground service only, with USPS, FedEx or UPS depending on the item's value and size. We choose the carrier.
- Every shipment is tracked, requires a signature on delivery, and is insured for the full sale price. Someone needs to be there to sign.
- A kit that ships in more than one box gets a label and tracking number for each box, and counts as delivered when the last one arrives.
- Batteries have to be declared when the item is listed, and they ship by ground only.
Sellers must ship within a reasonable time of the sale. A seller who repeatedly fails to ship may be suspended. You can follow the tracking from your order page.
The largest items are local pickup only
Shipping insurance only goes so high on a single package, so an item listed at $9,999 or more is sold for local pickup only and is not shipped. The listing says so before you buy.
When it arrives
Open the box and check the item against its listing. You have 48 hours from delivery to accept it or open a case. Your payment is held until then, and the seller is not paid before it is delivered. If it arrives damaged or is not what the listing described, see the returns page.
Local pickup
Where a seller allows pickup in person, we do not ship and nothing is insured in transit. You and the seller arrange the handover directly and meet somewhere sensible. The payment stays held until you confirm the handover with a code the seller gives you in person.
The full terms
This page summarizes sections 6, 8 and 9 of the terms of service, which govern if the two ever differ. How the held payment works is on How it works, and questions about a particular order are answered on the help page.
